SOLD This Chas. Baker & Co. tailor's advertising chair dates from the mid to late 19th century, possibly early 20th. It is made in mahogany with a gentleman’s trouser press concealed in the back. Following the opening of their first store in 1864, they expanded across London until the company were forced to close due to the outbreak of WWII in 1939. There was a boom in the British textile industry in the mid-late 19th century and the clothing trade was a very competitive business. Chas. Baker & Co were innovative in the world of advertising with decorative maps of London and printed leaflets. This great piece of history would look fab in a gentleman's tailors or equally good in a design studio. Price includes UK mainland delivery.

This Scandinavian glass vase is in the style of Swedish Murano Sommerso art glass with the sleek characteristic droplet shaped centre. Dating from the 70s, this mauve beauty is a skilfully blown weighty piece. Stunning!
-
I believe the Scandinavian floor lamp base is from the 60s and the shade may be a little later. The shade is a classic mid-century apricot, brown and orange combination which ties in perfectly with the teak and brass base.

Beautifully handmade reclaimed wood box is made by Doodle and Snooze (Jude Boutle, Llanbister) from oak, ash and a red hardwood. The metal bent pin is from a dish drainer and the metal cord from around a bottle of Rioja. This delightful piece oozes quirky charm. SOLD A highly quirky chest of drawers. These boat cabin steps with drawers incorporated into the step risers were specially commissioned. They have sailed many nautical miles and have only had one lady owner! The outer stair structure is made of solid oak and the drawers are oak veneered to lessen the overall weight. They are well worn as you can expect from their former function but I think this adds to their charm. They would suit a useful and unusual addition to a country style kitchen, studio space or bedroom. They would be perfect as a set of steps to a mezzanine floor and with combined storage they are suited to small spaces. Personally, I would use the steps for display and the drawers to store less accessed belongings.

SOLD I like bringing the outside in with this pair of exterior industrial style galvanised or brushed alloy wall lanterns. Having lived in rented for years as a student and beyond, I could never consider installing wall lights- electrician, hardwiring etc. These lights have been re-wired with a long fabric flex so you can simply plug in. The flex becomes a feature to create that cool art studio vibe. Price includes UK mainland postage.

SOLD An early 20th century vintage child's school desk with strap hinged top and ink well aperture. For nostalgia sake ... weekday teatimes watching Grange Hill and on Sunday mornings producing radio shows on my radio cassette player at my old school desk. My Dad, through his furniture business, acquired a desk not dissimilar to this for doing my homework. Mine still had a load of unmentionable graffiti and a bit of old ‘chewy’ stuck to the underside!… unlike this one of course which has been sympathetically restored. Please request a delivery quote by filling out the form below or contact us separately- thank you.

SOLD I positively love the atomic age (late 40s–early 60s) and this piece, although probably dating from late 60s early 70s takes inspiration from this era. A beautifully designed piece in solid & veneered teak wood with atomic style ebonised knobs and retro dansette legs (ebonised wood legs with brass feet caps).

Meet ‘Jonathan’ (named by previous custodian) the mannequin torso. This piece of mannequin art is covered with pages from 50 Shades of Grey using the decoupage technique. I thought it wise NOT to show a detail of this piece! Jonathan is a very useful chap as you can adorn him with your accessories. A definite talking/giggling point!
