SOLD This is a mid-century wall clock made by Metamec. In full working order with quartz movement and very pretty pierced foliate surround. Metamec was a manufacturer of domestic clocks in the second half of the 20th century, and was based in Dereham, Norfolk, England. The name "Metamec" is derived from "metal-work and mechanics". The company started as an offshoot of the furniture manufacturers Jentique in about 1941, which made boxes for instruments and bombs during World War II. Price includes UK mainland postage.

WHY I BOUGHT THIS VINTAGE STOOL… … because I am drawn to utilitarian art studio furniture which is heavily marked and worn. I like to imagine the hours of contemplation spent whilst sitting on this stool. There’s even a previous owner’s initials inscribed into the side panel. The painted finish has a fab patina.

This cute Indian carved box dates from the late 19th century. The interior has been sympathetically relined as the original lining had deteriorated significantly. I believe this item was made as a sewing box but would function as a beautiful jewellery box too.

SOLD A pair of Edwardian painted silhouettes of a lady and gentleman in period dress, presented in glazed ebonised oval frames. Silhouette images are created in various ways, later examples were often painted. These are produced in the traditional way with pieces of cut paper, mounted to a backing in a contrasting colour, and framed. Highly skilled specialist artists would cut the silhouette in a matter of minutes, working purely by eye. Price includes UK mainland postage.
