SOLD This brass bell is very loud and causes a ripple of laughter whenever it is pressed in the Rhayader shop. It's hard to resist- you just have to press it. I like the used look with dull brass for this one- this bell has been dinged many times! Wouldn't take much effort though to bring it back to a see yourself finish. SOLD Handmade rag bunting exclusively made for and in collaboration with 3LD by Bobbi Handmade. Bobbi is local to Rhayader and designs and makes children’s clothing. I showed Bobbi a photo of rag bunting at Gifford’s Circus and to my delight she had made similar for her wedding. This is a fantastic way of creating a decorative item out of normally discarded fabric which is attached to 2.5 metre long super strong natural yachting cord. SOLD Collection of six later edition Arthur Ransome novels with dust covers. Arthur Michell Ransome (18 January 1884 – 3 June 1967) was an English author and journalist. He is best known for writing the Swallows and Amazons series of children's books about the school-holiday adventures of children, mostly in the Lake District and the Norfolk Broads. Growing up in the 80's played a part in the decision for this purchase. My Dad's furniture shop also had a drapery department. This is a collection of eight Omaro engineers cardboard slide rule calculators for steel and iron, bending allowance, specific gravity and screw heads. This is a rare 1960's/70's set of nine Oshie Japanese silk dolls. Oshie means 'Japanese patchwork'- a traditional technique of using fragments of clothing and paper/card to create dolls for girls. These are exquisitely made with hand painted/brushed facial features and individually placed beards.

SOLD This is a mid-century wall clock made by Metamec. In full working order with quartz movement and very pretty pierced foliate surround. Metamec was a manufacturer of domestic clocks in the second half of the 20th century, and was based in Dereham, Norfolk, England. The name "Metamec" is derived from "metal-work and mechanics". The company started as an offshoot of the furniture manufacturers Jentique in about 1941, which made boxes for instruments and bombs during World War II. Price includes UK mainland postage.

Silhouette images are created in various ways, later examples were often painted. These are produced in the traditional way with pieces of cut paper, mounted to a backing in a contrasting colour, and framed.
