This Indian silver bowl is a handworked item and is in excellent condition. There are no signs of damage or splits.
Raising is a metal working technique whereby sheet metal (in this instance silver) is formed over a solid object by repeated hammering and annealing (heating and cooling). The resulting markings are the visible imprint of the maker. There is no doubting this is a hand made creation in an opulent and beautiful material.
