This mid-century Chinese carved coffee table is made in fruitwood with blossom and the Greek key pattern motif scroll legs. Most intricate carvings are on either end of the table, both depicting different scenes using key pattern design and typical Chinese style motifs: blossom, pagodas, mountains and temples. This cute Indian carved box dates from the late 19th century. The interior has been sympathetically relined as the original lining had deteriorated significantly. I believe this item was made as a sewing box but would function as a beautiful jewellery box too.

Meet ‘Jonathan’ (named by previous custodian) the mannequin torso. This piece of mannequin art is covered with pages from 50 Shades of Grey using the decoupage technique. I thought it wise NOT to show a detail of this piece! Jonathan is a very useful chap as you can adorn him with your accessories. A definite talking/giggling point!

WHY I BOUGHT THIS … … because I love a striking object … This is a free form, hand blown, Chalet art glass centrepiece. It was made in Canada in around the 1960s or perhaps a little earlier. Extraordinary that it is in nearly perfect condition with no chips - just a few scratches on the underside of the base. Stunning … well, I think so!

SOLD WHY I BOUGHT THIS ... ... because it has been untouched since it came out of an old watchmakers shop in 2017/18. This watch makers chest of drawers dates from around 1930 and is made from stained pine. It has the original black bakelite knobs and has a truly beautiful (to me) worn patina. This item has sold.

SOLD This is a late 19th century country made mahogany arm chair with a beautiful curved shape. When you look closely it looks like it has been in a Wild West showdown with multiple repairs! The repairs are good and strong though with no movement. This one is a survivor :)

The style and mixture of earthy and dark tones will work with pretty much any decor. The price reflects the condition but to me it is worth more than a perfect example- I have been looking for a Persian rug with this aesthetic for a long time!

A highly practical bookcase made in three stacked sections. Indeed, this fairly large furniture item is very easy to disassemble and transport. Flat-pack furniture has been around for years, centuries even!
